Overview:

The EL Education curriculum for grades K-8 is designed to support rigorous language and literacy teaching and learning through its deep, spiraling design, standards-based alignment, student-centered focus, and engaging real-world context. Throughout its three integral elements -- Modules for grades K-8, Skills Block for grades K-2, Labs for grades K-2, and ALL Block for grades 3-5 -- the EL Education curriculum provides a complex, differentiated, and robust student-centered approach to literacy instruction.

How We Support Teachers to Implement the EL Education Curriculum:

We support educators to understand the design and philosophy behind the curriculum in order to ensure their ability to become change agents and begin creating a learning community that can support one another throughout the implementation of the curriculum. We draw on tenants of active pedagogy to create an atmosphere that encourages a deep dive into the design of the resources, its structure, and key components in order to create a commitment and vision for implementation.And, we provide ongoing and authentic planning support for teachers as they implement the EL Education curriculum by working with them to leverage their current understanding of the curriculum and apply skills to support strategic planning using assessment data from their students.
